The Zerostart Copper Threaded Coolant Immersion Heater 8600260 is designed for Caterpillar models C9, C15, C16, 3406 (Except 1998 models), 3406 (with BrakeSaver-through 1993 models), 3406E, and 3408 (1099 CID), Detroit Diesel models 6V-71, 8V-71, and Series 60 (11.1L 677 CID, 12.7L 775 CID), International/Navistar model V800 (798 CID).


INSTALLATION INFORMATION:

  • For Caterpillar models C9, C15, C16: Install in oil cooler rear bonnet
  • For Caterpillar models 3406 (Except 1998 models), 3406 (with BrakeSaver-through 1993 models), 3406E: Without BrakeSaver: Replaces 1" pipe plug in oil cooler rear bonnet (pictured). With BrakeSaver: Install in front bonnet. 
  • For Caterpillar model 3408 (1099 CID): Replaces 1" pipe plug behind oil cooler on Right cylinder bank. 
  • For Detroit Diesel models 6V-71, 8V-71: Replaces 1" pipe plug on front face of Left cylinder bank. 
  • For Detroit Diesel models Series 60 (11.1L 677 CID, 12.7L 775 CID): Pre 1991 Engines - Replaces 1" NPT plug in water pump outlet casting on Right Front side of engine. 1991 and newer replaces 1" plug near top front of oil cooler.
  • For International/Navistar model V800 (798 CID): Replace 1" pipe plug in oil cooler bonnet.
