The Zerostart Copper Threaded Coolant Immersion Heater 8605556 is designed for Caterpillar models C9, C15, C16, 3406 (Except 1998 models), 3406 (with BrakeSaver-through 1993 models), 3406E, and 3408 (1099 CID), Detroit Diesel models 6V-71, 8V-71 (Vehicles without power steering and/or air conditioning), Series 50 (Except low-mount turbo), and Series 60 (11.1L 677 CID, 12.7L 775 CID), International/Navistar model V800 (798 CID) and Perkins model 640 (Z Series 8 cyl.).
INSTALLATION INFORMATION:
- For Caterpillar models C9, C15, C16: Install in Oil cooler rear bonnet
- For Caterpillar model 3406 (Except 1998 models), 3406 (with BrakeSaver-through 1993 models), 3406E:Without BrakeSaver: Replaces 1" pipe plug in oil cooler rear bonnet
- For Caterpillar model 3408 (1099 CID): Replaces 1" pipe plug behind oil cooler on Right cylinder bank.
- For Detroit Diesel models 6V-71, 8V-71 (Vehicles without power steering and/or air conditioning): Replaces 1" pipe plug on front face of Left cylinder bank.
- For Detroit Diesel models Series 50 (Except low-mount turbo): Replaces 1" NPT plug in oil cooler casting.
- For Detroit Diesel models Series 60 (11.1L 677 CID, 12.7L 775 CID): Pre-1991 engines - replaces 1/4" NPT plug in water pump outlet casting on right front side of engine. 1991 and newer replaces 1" pipe plug near top front of oil cooler.
- For International/Navistar model V800 (798 CID): Replace 1" pipe plug in oil cooler bonnet.
- For Perkins model 640 (Z Series 8 cyl.): Install in Left Rear
